WHEN YOU FINALLY GET WHAT YOU WANT
THE STRANGE FEELING WHEN YOU FINALLY GET WHAT YOU WANT
THE STRANGE FEELING WHEN YOU FINALLY GET WHAT YOU WANT
Have you ever wanted something really bad that you worked your ass out for it and when you finally get it the feeling is different than what you expected? As a matter of fact, i have had this feeling a couple of times and i must say it's very depressing. Most people particularly feel this way when it comes to sex and from what i have observed, it mostly happens due to over planning and unnecessary high expectations. However, lets leave sex out of this discussion, this feeling of disappointment could also be present even when one accomplishes his most sought after goal, his purpose in life.
I once had a crazy nostalgia for a video-game i once played as a kid and had been searching for about 10 years for it. when i finally found it, however, i was happy at first but my happiness eventually turned sour as i repeatedly ask my sub-consciousness "Is this all there is to it?, What Next?". The more I experienced this feeling the more I came to the undoubtedly conclusion that happiness is a fickle thing and thus we are always searching for happiness for something to make us whole, to make us laugh to make us feel something and sadly we will most likely spend most of our lives looking for that one thing to make us happy and likely get disappointed every single time.
We struggle all our lives to get the "Dough", as we call it, in hopes that it'll eventually make us fulfilled but then that feeling of want never ends. Once you reach your set goals and objectives, the human brain is wired to search for more to do. Sitting idle has never been the natural state of any man. However, the most likely outcome is that we may never find lasting happiness, it comes and goes and it's ok, that how the world is wired and we have no choice to live in it.
As you read this you must have had your mind wander off and thought what if i accomplish my goals, then what? Yes i have this thought many times, during prayers, in the shower and even while meditating. Sadly, thinking about wont make it any better we can only hope we find hapiness when we eventually do get what we want.

PS- The word for the empty feeling you get is known as "Anti-climax"
